Comedy Night with three of the UK's best after

If its laughter you're after, don't delay! We’ve lined up 3 of the most talented & funniest after dinner comics for you! Pete Emmett, Jamie Sutherland & John Scott will take to the stage in 3 rounds of side splittingly funny stories, that will have you falling off your seats! This event is sponsored by Edgewater Associates Limited. Pete Emmett Pete has hosted many of our formal black tie dinners, and he is a firm favourite of our audiences here on the IOM. Pete has an excellent sporting knowledge having worked in sports journalism for a number of years. This knowledge has led to him hosting major sporting events where his interviewing style guarantees intriguing questions and plenty of humorous banter. Jamie Sutherland After spending 14 years on the Banking High Street with Abbey/Santander, James decided to head into the world of stand up comedy. His stories of starting life on the counter of a busy bank, through to taking those first steps on the stage, his journey will have you both gasping in disbelief and roaring with laughter. John Scott John first hit the stage as a stand up back in 1999 at the Stand Comedy club in Edinburgh, after taking part in one of the venues comedy workshops. Just three months later he was asked to take part in his first Edinburgh festival run in the showcase Stand Up Scotland, a platform for the best new emerging talent from over the border. He admits he does have a slightly risqué edge and will push boundaries when he feels the time is right. So far he's never received a single complaint. Just the way his mum likes it. Manchester United legends evening - Andy Cole

The Sporting & Dining Club are proud to present an evening with not one, but two Manchester United legends! The event is sponsored by Edgewater Associates Limited. Andy Cole is a former Newcastle United, Man Utd, England and Champions League winner. Cole has the distinction of being one of the few players in England to have swept all possible honours in the English game, including the PFA Young Player of the Year award, as well as the coveted UEFA Champions League title. Cole hit 68 goals in 84 games for Newcastle giving him a strike rate of 81%. In terms of goals per game for Newcastle, only Hughie Gallacher has a better record. On 10 January 1995, Cole was suddenly sold by Newcastle in a shock deal to Manchester United for a deal worth £7 million – £6 million cash plus £1 million-rated Keith Gillespie going in the opposite direction, setting a new record for the most expensive British transfer. He went on to win every honour in the English game and was part of the Man United side who lifted the European Cup with victory over FC Bayern München in the 1999 Final. Norman Whiteside Belfast-born, Whiteside played over 250 times for Manchester United over a seven-year spell, winning two FA Cups and a Charity Shield. The forward became the youngest player ever to play at a World Cup when he broke Pele's record aged 17 years and 41 days when he turned out for Northern Ireland against Yugoslavia in the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain. Whiteside holds records as the youngest player to take part in a World Cup, the youngest player to score in a League Cup and FA Cup final, and the youngest player to score a senior goal for Manchester United. We'll also have a brilliant comedian and impressionist in Mike Maguire, entertaining the audience, who, as a radio prankster fooled the then England Manager, Sven-Göran Eriksson, when pretending to be his predecessor, Kevin Keegan!
